Mining Engineering

In general, the expertise or profession of Mining Engineering requires considerable knowledge. Basic sciences such as mathematics, physics, and chemistry are the foundation for understanding the basic concept of engineering in general, including Mining Engineering. The basic sciences of geology (basic geology, petrology, tectonophysics and structural geology) along with their derivatives such as crystallography, mineralogy and the genesis of minerals, as well as the knowledge of minerals quantification (reserve calculation, geostatistics, and resource modelling) are mandatory, especially for the exploration and proving in the early stage of the mining industry. Petroleum Engineering

The Petroleum Engineering Department ITB is designed for 8 semesters (4 years) study with a maximum of 6 years of study allowed. The curriculum is designed to prepare students for professional careers in the upstream stage of petroleum industry. The first six semesters of the curriculum consist of courses that is prepared to provide students with basic knowledge and skills for limited engineering problems. The curriculum of Petroleum Engineering consist of engineering design and practice courses to prepare students for professional practice. Geophysical Engineering
The purpose of education in Geophysical Engineering Program in general is to produce graduates in Geophysics that have ability to apply and develop science and technology in Indonesia as Benua Maritim with all the geology and tectonic characteristics and uniqueness so the earth resources in Indonesia can be utilized optimally to meet the needs of energy, minerals, groundwater, and secure social environment. Metallurgical Engineering

The Objective of the Bachelor Degree Program in Metallurgical Engineering is to produce graduates capable of processing, utilizing and managing mineral and coal resources wisely, effectively and efficiently with environmental and national insight. Developing a conducive academic atmosphere to address the problems in the community, especially problems in the national metallurgical industry through research and community service activities. Develop expertise of lecturers to contribute in the development of metallurgical science in Indonesia. Geothermal Engineering

The Geothermal Master Program deliver integrated education programs from exploration, feasibility assessment, steam field development (exploitation) to utilization of geothermal energy both for the electrical power generation, as well as for direct use (non-electric) to produce graduates who can meet the needs and demands of the geothermal industry, academic and research institutions, and government institutions. Master’s Degree Program “Geothermal Engineering” is oriented to the mastery and development of science and technology. The Geothermal Master’s degree is divided into two fields / paths of choice: Exploration and Engineering, Geothermal Exploration covers geology, geophysics and geochemistry used for geothermal survey and exploration and development. Engineering path cover exploitation techniques and geothermal utilization, drilling techniques, reservoir engineering, production techniques, electrical conversion techniques (power generation) and direct utilization of geothermal fluid. Both of paths are supplemented by: environmental, management and economic analysis, feasibility analysis / evaluation of geothermal prospects and research methodology.
