The position that had been vacant for almost a year has finally been filled again after President Joko Widodo appointed the official Director General of Oil and Gas at the Ministry of Mineral Resources (ESDM). Joko Widodo appointed Professor of Mining and Petroleum Engineering at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) Tutuka Ariadji as the new Director General of Oil and Gas.

Previously, the position of director general of oil and gas was filled by Djoko Siswanto as acting task force. Djoko Siswanto was finally honorably discharged in January 2020.

Tutuka Ariadji obtained his master’s and doctoral degrees at Texas A&M University, United States of America in 1994 and 1996 respectively, and completed his bachelor’s degree at ITB in 1988.

Now, Tutuka Ariadji is a Professor at the Faculty of Mining and Petroleum Engineering ITB with a group of expertise in Drilling, Production and Oil and Gas Management Engineering.
